Tips & Tricks

POOLING AREA OPTION:

If you would like to create a pooling area behind the back edge of the spillway stone, angle the horizontal cut of the “L” to be lower where it meets the mound and higher at the front edge. The pooling area should be no more than 2” deep. When your spillway stone is set in place, the pooling area depth will increase by the height of the stone. For example, if you carve a spillway pool that is 2” deep and place a 3” tall piece of flagstone, your final pool depth will be 5”. When the waterfall spillways are carved, use the board and level to ensure the sides of the tiers are even across the channel you’ve created to hold water.
